day 1 of czech trip.
DAY 1 OF CZECH TRIP
i thought i was gonna be freakin late to the airport so my parents and i rushed to the airport by cab as i was paranoid of the 1 euro per minute fine. a tight bond was forged between me and my luggages. my parents then spoke to mr kwei! omg. i freaked out! my mum went "MR NELSON!!" and i was like
*gulp*. he managed to convince them not to worry by telling them i was "stable". weird word choice. i got to know shannon's family better. they are really friendly and nice. then they managed to get both of us including emily, sochenda, aiping and mehmeh seats near to each other otherwise we could even be sitting next to strangers! so shannon and i walked through the airport which was so empty.
soon it was boarding time and both of us ran to the gate as we did not want to be late. as i passed through the scanner, the alarm sounded. the woman searched me and then searched my handcarry bag. apparently there was "something inside". she asked me to empty one of the compartments and guess wat? she found batteries! i was like wth. then she asked me if i was scared. arrgghh!!!
on the plane i was really excited. i love aeroplanes! and this time there was a monitor to every seat which allowed us to view from the plane's wheel the plane during taxi, takeoff and landing. it also has many games and tv channels. i played bejewelled and hangman! after all the joking around with the gang, i fell asleep. suddenly i was awakened by a noise. i turned to look. it was 2 stewards mumbling and asking for our tickets. ai ping and i were so blur. then we realised that they were serving my no beef meal and i had earlier swaped seats with ai ping. that meal was weird as i had only a zuchini, eggplant, purple lettuce and 2 small pieces of bread with butter. hahaha. everyone else had beef slices.
it was afternoon there when we transitted at dubai airport which was really cool. lots of shops. the gang including amelia, eunice and weiling ended up taking lots of pics and surprising sherlyn with a gift from her bf. hahaha. on the 2nd flight i sat beside yu cheng and mehmeh. we were constantly being served food. i felt like a glutton. although the ride was not as smooth especially the landing, the cabin crew was
extremely nice!! especially a steward called Marcos. he's so good looking!! yu chen, mehmeh and i were trying so hard to get a good picture of him! the funniest part came during the descent where the plane moved like a
rollercoaster and everyone was screaming and laughing.
the scenary from all the plane rides were really beautiful. especially vienna where you could see rivers, lakes, hills and vast green pastures. vienna airport was ok. the trolleys were old and operated with a coin. i sat next to shannon during the long bus ride to czech in the double deck coach. we were both sitting in a dangerous position where anyone of us could just slide off onto the stairs. it didn't help that aiping and mehmeh were telling so many jokes. once again, beautiful scenaries and windmills! shannon got that hips don't lie song
stuck in my head!
the czech people are really friendly as they waved to us on the bus. however, aiping and sochenda got a shock of their lives when they waved to 2 guys who showed them some dirty sign in return. oh my! hotel sigma was nice although the lifts were rickety and always got stuck or broke down (max 6 ppl) and we had to climb up and down to the 5th floor all the time. the guys were really nice to help us with our luggage. shannon was my roomate and aiping and mehmeh were next door. we could hear aiping from our room! i'm really happy as shannon and i kept the room real tidy. sat with the gang for dinner which was chicken and potatoes. yummy!
Czech was kind of a culture shock as people were really open there. right smack in my face were people frenching etc. shannon and i bought this 5 litre bottle of mineral water as czech water isn't 100% safe for drinking. we were forced to bed early at around 9pm. so that's the end of day one.
