A recap of the year in an hour.
2006 was full of firsts. the year started off with me working at the airport Swensen's with za! it was an experience i'll never forget. learnt things that you can never learn in school! it was all the more fun with za there to always brighten my day with her whacky jokes and
hilarious antics. together we served customers
dirty fries and ate ice cream like nobody's business.
the
worst thing that happened this year was when my uncle Samson passed away and my family gave me hell during his funeral. i owe alot to za for comforting me then. when the O'level results were released i was really relieved as i qualified for JC! however, i was quite pissed of when i was posted to srjc which was my 7th choice. but during the 4 days of orientation i had there, i made many new friends and had lots of fun.
the
best thing that happened to me came when my appeal to tpjc through choir was successful. after 10 years in a convent school, i'm now in a mixed school! still i miss my friends in sac and the morning prayers and mass that they conduct ever so often. i didn't really know much people in tpjc, only za, abbs and their friends. but
i survived.
the
biggest surprise came when i found out that choir was going to czech. the training was tough but fun with people like ai ping, mehmeh and shannon around. when i first met my new classmates of 06S10. i nearly
died coz they all looked really nerdy and studious-
which they are. at first, lessons were boring and quiet but gradually everyone settled in and started mingling. soon the class became super noisy and crazy and we kind of got bonded
like birds of a feather! ;)most of my spare time was devoted to choir and project work. we had many projects- the choir camp, plasir de chanson (concert), czech trip/competition, panorama, malacca trip and the SCO concert. a complete contrast to my other cca, first aid society which is quite slack. my first time in Europe proved to be one of the most memorable experiences of my life! academic life was also super stressful, considering the wrong subject combination choices i made together with common tests, SPAs and promos.
in October, my uncle from india came down to singapore and it was nice to see him again after 8 years. i fell very ill many times this year too. on the whole, this year was quite a ride and i wouldn't trade it for the world. i'm really
thankful to God, my family and all my friends. this year showed me that God has a plan for all of us. my new year's resolution is obviously to work hard for A levels, and improve my sucky results and of course, to be happy!
LET'S TOAST TO A HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! =)
